Ingredients & Equipment
You will need:
Freshly ground medium-fine Encanto Coffee
Hot water (200°F or 93°C, just off the boil)
AeroPress (including plunger, chamber, and filter cap)
AeroPress filters (paper or metal)
Stirrer (included with AeroPress or use a spoon)
Cup or mug
Ingredients
20g Encanto Coffee
-
Assemble the AeroPress with the chamber and plunger.
Place a paper or metal filter in the filter cap. If using a paper filter, rinse it with hot water to remove any paper taste and preheat the chamber
-
Measure 15-18 grams of Encanto Coffee (about 1 scoop if you don’t have a scale).
-
Heat water to 200°F (93°C). If you don’t have a thermometer, boil water and let it sit for 30 seconds.
-
Choose a brewing method:
Standard Method: Place the AeroPress directly on your mug with the filter cap down.
Inverted Method: Place the plunger at the bottom and the chamber on top (upside down).
-
Add the ground coffee to the chamber. Level it to ensure even brewing.
-
Pour hot water into the chamber up to your desired level (use the numbers on the chamber as a guide). Typically, aim for 240ml (8oz) of water.
-
Use the stirrer or a spoon to mix the coffee and water for 10 seconds, ensuring all grounds are saturated.
-
Let the coffee steep for 1-2 minutes. For stronger coffee, steep slightly longer.
-
Attach the filter cap (if using the inverted method) and flip the AeroPress onto your mug.
Slowly press down the plunger with steady pressure. You should feel resistance. Stop when you hear a hissing sound.
-
Remove the AeroPress and discard the coffee grounds and filter.
Taste your coffee. If it’s too strong, dilute with hot water to your preference.
